What is a walk team? A walk team is a group of 15 or more registered
walkers under a single team name.
Can children attend the event? All walk
participants must be at least 18 years old. We, however, gladly
welcome children to observe that day's events with a non-participating
adult. Only registered walkers will be allowed on the walk path.
Will pets be allowed at the event? For the safety of
your pet and all attending adults and children, we ask
that animals not be brought to the event.
Who can join my walk team? Anyone! It doesn’t just have to be members
of your organization; it can also be friends, family, colleagues,
neighbors, etc.
How much does it cost? $20 dollars is the registration fee per
person. All registration fees and
donations are tax deductible.
What do I need to do? We ask that each walk
team aspire to raise at least $1500. That means that if each member of a 15 person team raises $100
over the next 3 months, you will meet your minimum goal! Of
course, we gladly encourage your team to raise your fundrasing bar.
The education, equality, and safety of
Michigan
women will greatly benefit from
your effort.
What if we don’t raise $1500? Any
money raised is a job well done. No matter how much your team raises,
we appreciate your effort and commitment to the cause. Walk teams, however, that are
able to raise $1500 or more will receive recognition on www.walknow2008.org and will be eligible for special walk prizes and giveaways. The team that raises the most
money, as well as the individual who raises the most money, will
also receive a special gift for their leadership and commitment.
What if I can’t find 15 people to be on my walk
team? Again, we understand. This
is a goal, not a requirement.
What will the money I raise go towards?

That’s sort of far away, how would I get
there? We encourage our walkers
to set up car pools with their walk teams. Not only does it save you money on gas and parking, but it
saves the environment! Parking in
Kensington is $4 per car.
